In July 2019, WCU designated the Engineering and Utilities building at 700 Grace Road as a pilot building for Tune™Filter (originally named T7 EMI Facility Filter) installation. One of the older buildings on campus, it has undergone multiple renovations over the years with more sub panels per square foot than is typical for a building of its type.

Henkel’s adhesive plant in Virginia was very successful in reducing wastewater and water consumption by imploring A3 Lean Methodologies and installing timers or remote start/stops on all major equipment to bring them to a “Zero State” during off hours.

Upon taking office, mayor Rodger Lingerfelt sought ways to deliver savings to the citizens of Rainsville, AL. In September of 2017, he initiated an LED lighting retrofit and Tune™ filter installations in many of the city’s facilities. The performance was closely monitored with impressive results delivered in March of 2018. Rainsville continues to install Tune™ filters across their facilities — testing next generation Tune™ filters as they become available.

RPM Pizza, LLC is the largest franchise owner of Domino’s® Pizza in the United States, employing over 3,500 team members. Founded in 1981 with its headquarters located in Gulfport, MS., RPM operates stores in Mississippi, Louisiana, Alabama, Indiana, and Michigan. After 2 years of extensive testing, RPM executives have installed Tune®filters enterprise-wide. In the fall of 2020, filters were installed in 170+ existing locations and are being added to new stores during construction. Based on the analysis of pilot locations, RPM anticipates a return on investment in less than 2 years and enterprise-wide savings of more than $100,000 annually.

A full-service restaurant and popular venue, this set of TFI Fridays are owned by a franchise group operating seven locations. With this installation, their goal was to create a minimum of 5% savings in electrical usage as a test as see its value at a single Atlanta location.

Northwood Mall at Mission Village is a strip mall in the Sandy Springs area of north Atlanta. Hanna Capital, LLC invests in real estate around the country and has been operating the Northwood Mall property for more than 20 years. In 2016, Tune™Filters (originally named T7 EMI Facility Filter) were installed in the Mall’s common area where Hanna Capital is responsible for the electric bills. Additional filters were installed in the Mission School and Mission Church supported by the Atlanta Archdiocese.

Fast food restaurants are often built to spec to provide similar energy consumption variables across locations. Krystal Fast Food has been around for well over 30 years with restaurant locations of varying ages, each built and owned by Krystal Fast Food Corp and operates 19 to 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Tune™Filters (originally named T7 EMI Facility Filter) were installed at their Roswell store (built 1987) and Norcross, GA store (built 1994) , and used their Marietta, GA location (built 1990) as a control facility to compare results. One Tune™Filter was installed at each location on Oct. 23, 2012 after creating a 12-month weather normalized baseline before installation, and followed with a 12-month third party analysis*to compare KWh/yr usage.

Aligning with their mission to examine new technologies, and due to the Tune’s real-world application, students conducted a 14-month installation and measurement project in the 155,000 square foot McDonough Athletic Center as their “Pilot” building located on campus.

In March and April of 2016, Tune™LLC (formerly Main Street Energy, LLC) conducted a series of controlled tests to collect data on their product’s performance. The first measure was in changing the cabin from conventional lighting to LED lighting. The second measure was the impact of the Tune™Filter (originally named T7 EMI Facility Filter) after the LED conversion. By running this series of measurements on the electrical usage before and after the filter installation, the goal was to determine results of added potential savings in electrical consumption.
